2027: Insecurity aimed at frustrating polls – Sen Karimi raises alarm

The lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sunday Karimi, has raised concerns over the wave of terrorism and banditry across Nigeria, linking the insecurity to attempts at undermining the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Karimi suggested that despite ongoing operations by security agencies, the persistent attacks appear connected to political motives.
“Certain interests and tendencies are resolved to continue making the country ungovernable, with the ultimate aim of disrupting the forthcoming general elections,” he said.
