Miyetti Allah denies terror links, urges intervention over US bill

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria on Sunday denied involvement in banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, or cattle rustling, insisting it has never condoned violent activity in Nigeria.
National President, Alhaja Baba Ngelzarma, made the statement in Abuja while addressing a news conference on ‘H.R. 7457 – Nigeria Religious Freedom and Accountability Act of 2026’ before the United States Congress.
PUNCH Online reports that the bill was introduced in the US House of Representatives by Reps Chris Smith, Riley Moore, Brian Mast, and Bill Huizenga.
The legislation recommends visa bans and asset freezes under the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act against individuals and entities, including MACBAN, accused of involvement in religious freedom abuses.
